NAVATAUYABA - Week 9

Finally the Sickness is gone!
Bula vinaka everyone!
Haha, as you can see by the heading, I'm finally feeling better! It's been a good 2 weeks of battling with sickness. But I'm feeling great today! Funny story... It turns out that I got scabies on top of the virus I had been battling. Before now I didn't even know what scabies was. Haha. It's not super fun. But thankfully I'm cured! Time to refocus on the missionary work!

Unfortunately my battle with sickness really limited our ability to proselyte this week, so not too much to report on there. But we had zone conference! It was awesome. We finally adopted the worldwide missionary changes. Well, lots of them. Some were vetoed by our Mission President... But it's still pretty exciting! I'm actually most excited for the shift in what's called our Key Indicators. Each week we have to report our Key Indicators for that week. Before, that included our number of lessons, progressing investigators, etc. But they reduced it from 9 to 4! I like it. The Brethren picked 4 that we are to focus on. I'm way excited to see how the work's going to change.

Other than that, not much to tell! I'm excited for P-day today, we got a hold of a cool frisbee, so you know we're going to be playing some Ultimate frisbee. My companion and I are still having a blast, getting along well. Oh yeah, he's WAY good at football by the way. If you got some free time and want to watch some of his highlights, here you are.

Anyways, that's about it! Thanks for tuning in again! Just know that I'm doing great! Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers, it keeps me going! Missions are the BEST! I hope all is well! keep on keepin' on!!

NAVATAUYABA - Week 8

Baptisms!
Bula Vinaka everyone!
It's been a great week here in Navatuyaba!

We had the opportunity to help 2 people come closer to Christ through baptism this week! Ana & Teia are way amazing people. We have been teaching them for a little over a month, seeing them almost daily. Their desire to learn more about the gospel is immense. It was amazing to see them get in the water. We truly have an amazing Gospel!

Unfortunately, I'm still pretty sick this week. It's been hard to work. But we're doing what we can! Other than that, it's been a pretty average week, so not much to report on! This week we will have Zone Conference with President Layton, and we're going to be adopting the changes to the missionary schedule that have taken place across the world. It's going to change a lot!

Well, that's about it! It'll just be a short one today. I love you all! Until next week, keep on keepin' on!

NAVATAUYABA - Week 7

Sickness
Bula Vinaka!
Hey everyone! Yet another week has come and gone! Time is way too fast! This last week was transfer week, but both my companion and I are staying! We were expecting to, since we both just barely got here. In fact, nobody in our district of 6 elders changed. It's awesome, because we've just become brothers. There are so many perks to being a missionary!

Unfortunately, I got pretty sick this week. Apparently there's this virus going around, and let me tell ya, it's no fun. We weren't able to get a whole lot done this week, because it just drains all the energy out of the body. But we worked as hard as we could!

We're finding a good amount of people to teach! We're loving the work now. We have a baptism planned for this Saturday! 2 actually. Hopefully all goes well. It may have to be postponed 1 or 2 more weeks, but it should be soon! They're two 20 year-old girls. Their desire to be baptized is so cool to see! They truly love this gospel and want to follow it for the rest of their lives.

I would just like to send my love to Elder Amai. He just finished his mission in December, and went home to New Zealand. Last week he passed away in a car accident.
If you'd like to see the article about him on LDS Newsroom, click on the attached .pdf file. (website)

I'm gonna miss you bro. KALOUGATA TIKO.

For a spiritual thought, I'd just like to touch on the importance of the Holy Ghost. It's so crucial that we strive to live worthy of its companionship everyday! Repent every single day so that you can have it's presence! How blessed we are to have the comfort of one the members of the Godhead in our every day lives.

I love you guys so much! Thanks for following my emails each week! I hope all is well! Until next week, keep on keepin' on!

NAVATAUYABA - Week 6

Dunkin' Souls into Salvation!
Bula Vinaka!
Hey everyone! This is gonna be a super short one because I'm about to leave for a BEACH P-DAY. Haha, I'm so excited (there will be no swimming involved but that's ok).

We had a great week! My companion had his first baptism ever!! Sister Drove has amazing faith. It was a wonderful weekend. There is literally no better feeling than when you see someone that you and your companion taught go down into the waters of baptism, especially when you know that they are 100% ready. This work is so fulfilling!

Oh yeah, and sorry for last week! Haha, the internet shop's wifi shut down in the middle of emails. I was bummed. Last week was great too! We found lots of new people to teach. Things are getting better in our area!

Thanks for reading my email! I love you guys! Sorry it's so short, but you know, duty calls. ;) Until next week, keep on keepin' on!
